Fleet Highlander key fob issue resolved :)

I finally bought this old 2021 Highlander XLE that I've been eyeing (it's really cheap since it's a fleet or something). The only problem here was that the remote start from the fob didn't work at first and I couldn't register it on the Toyota app because of the fleet status. I called Toyota support, sent over my registration, and boom, everything worked after 3 hours, no subscription needed for fob start. I'm just sharing in case you got the same experience and you're stuck.

What made you decide to go through Toyota support instead of a dealer, did you already know it could be fixed remotely, or were you just hoping they'd unlock it without a subscription?

wow, that's a good deal on a fleet vehicle! That's awesome you figured out the remote start issue.
This is super helpful to know, as a lot of people probably run into the exact same problem with fleet cars where the previous ownership status gums up the works with connected services. Good on you for sharing the fix, calling Toyota support with your registration is clearly the way to go!
